I Told You So
We all hate to hear it. And when we do, it often cuts to the bone. It is a comment that is made to us after we fail to heed the wisdom of a trusted friend or advisor, and then the very thing that they warned us about comes to pass. And the worst part about it is not the pain itself, but knowing that the pain that we are going through could have avoided.

Scripture:
“After they had gone a long time without food, Paul stood up before them and said: “Men, you should have taken my advice not to sail from Crete; then you would have spared yourselves this damage and loss.” – Acts 27:21
Observation/Application:
Paul was but a prisoner, not a centurion or person of status among the people on the ship. And he was not a person of authority by the world’s standards. But Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit, a child of God who knew who he was. And with God’s direction, he was able to provide the appropriate counsel to those who by the world’s standards were people of authority.
But those who lived by the world’s authority failed to listen to his counsel. They failed to give credit to his counsel that he told them came straight from God. So by going against God’s counsel, they failed to seek God’s counsel. He may not have been in authority, he may not have been the best communicator or problem solver or other things that put us into authority by the world’s standards. But everyone has their role and purpose, each equally important in God’s eyes.
The prophet, or person who gets a word from God, can arguably be the most important person among the crowd. Because whatever God says is going to happen, is going to happen. Whether it is the person with the most leadership skills, problem solving skills, communication skills, or the one who is most skilled at sailing the ship… none of that can stand against the Will of God an change the outcome.
Are there people speaking prophetic word in our lives that we are not listening to? Are we not listening to others because we are in a position of authority by the world’s standards? Are others not listening to us due to our lack of authority by the world’s standard? Be encouraged, for God is always with us. And as children of God and by His Authority, nothing can stand against us. God’s Word is the most powerful thing in the world. And have access to it each and every day for free! How awesome is it to know that the key to everything that we ever want or need is right there in front of us.

Let us reflect on how much we value the Word of God in our lives. Do we value it so much so that we earnestly seek and truly listen? Do we truly value it’s unlimited power and strength? Or do we not discount its value because it is free? This is something that only we can answer for ourselves. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. And I will continue to seek him first each and every day. For there is nothing worth more than His awesome Word, and His awesome power, and His awesome strength, and His awesome wisdom, and His awesome love, and His awesome joy.
I pray that it comes upon your heart to immerse yourself in God’s amazing Word each and every day, that we may be continually reminded of how awesome our God is, and that you will be amazingly blessed by it each and every day.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you so much for your Word today. Help us to seek you first Lord. Help us to value your Word, and to see it’s unlimited power. Help us to not discount it because it is free or because of what the world claims. We know who we are Lord, children of the most high God, and heirs to the kingdom and eternal life. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Fill us with all of your goodness Lord. Enrich our lives in every way. Strengthen us in every way that is aligned with your Will. And we give you all the honor and glory, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
