Practical Tips For Navigating These Crazy Times

Health pandemic one day. Social unrest the next. Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask, wear a mask. Stay inside, go outdoors, stay inside. It’s fine to gather in protests but not in church. One media source says our leader is satan while the next one says that he is our savior.

Has the world gone completely insane? Are we spinning out of control? Like a box of chocolates, when you wake up tomorrow you never know what you’re going to get. Things are crazier with each passing day.

So what are we to do? How can we ensure that we’re doing the right things in the midst of the chaos?

While this is nowhere near exhaustive and the topic alone could be discussed for months, here are some practical tips to leverage during such challenging times.

Practical Tips For Navigating These Crazy Times

Trust in God alone.

Pray continually.

Immerse in the Word and His loving presence all the more.

Worship God like He gave your your very life (because He did), and like He deserves it (because He does).

That means to praise Him more joyfully and passionately than you do cheering for your favorites sports team or athlete.

Understand that even well-meaning, caring, educated, and even bible reading people can be deceived and misled.

Realize too that those “of the cloth” are human and not exempt from deception.

Be careful what books you read and whose words you choose to study. Pick your authors carefully… the Bible is sufficient to understanding all things.

God doesn’t care about a person’s MBA, PhD, or any other title or human accomplishments other than those that serve His Will.

Expertise by human standards has no value from an eternal perspective.

Remember the “expert” Pharisees were knowledgeable by their standards also.

Be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves! Too many people today are focusing only on the love/dove component while Satan is hard at work deceiving those loving hearts. Awake to the true evil that surrounds us.

What is desperately needed in the church today is spiritual discernment.

Some Important Scripture References For These Days

  • For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. – Ephesians 2:14-16
  • And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.  – 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

  • For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 6:12
  • Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. – 1 Peter 5:8
  • For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. – Ephesians 6:12
  • And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. – 2 Corinthians 11:14-15

Hope, Faith, and Trust

And last but not least, have hope, strengthen your faith, and trust that God is with you. For the work that He started in you He will bring to pass. God never starts a work that he does not finish.

  • And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6

I call you blessed!
