Truth

Have you ever had something holding you back? Maybe you had a blind spot and couldn’t see it. Then maybe a loved one or a trusted advisor told you about it but you refused to listen. Maybe you even heard but didn’t accept the truth because you were too proud and stubborn. But then over time our walls break down, we set aside our pride, or worse yet our situation becomes so desperate that we have no choice but to face the brutal truth.

Scripture:
“Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?” – Galatians 4:16

Observation/Application:
What we might want and what God requires sometimes come into conflict. But we are not above God, the creator, maker of heaven and earth. He rules supreme, and what He requires of us may conflict with our earthly desires. Life on earth is not always a bowl of peaches, a bouquet of roses, butterflies, ice cream, small puppies and rainbows.

In fact it is sometimes downright ugly, painful, and difficult. But don’t get mad at the messenger of truth. The quicker we can come to know the truth, the quicker we can move forward. If we are going to advance in our life, in our health, in our financial situation, in our relationships, we have to face the truth. To face the truth we have to put ourselves aside and be open to the truth. The truth might hurt, but the truth is the truth.

Eventually, we all will know the truth and the truth will set us free. Truth can be found in the Word of God. No leader, no person, not even ourselves, can compete with God. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – (Romans 3:23). “While sin results in death, those who are in Christ will reap eternal life.” – (Romans 6:23)

Accept it now, or deal with it later. We all die someday, but in Christ you will have life. In Christ there is life abundantly (John 10:10), and life eternally (John 3:16). The Word of God is the truth, and the Word of God reigns supreme. If you are seeking the truth, I pray that you will open your heart to the truth, to the amazing love of the Lord, and a life everlasting. And I pray that you will find peace, love, comfort, power, strength, hope, and joy in Jesus. And I pray that you will have life, and have it abundantly, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. We seek the truth Lord. Help us to remove the scales from our ears and the wax from our ears. Get rid of our selfishness and our stubbornness. Open our hearts to you. Open our minds to you. Wash us clean from the inside out Lord. Fill us with your clean, pure, and holy water Lord. Renew us, refresh us, restore us. Lift us up and make us new. Reveal to us the goodness of your mercy. Reveal to us your truth. Touch everyone around me Lord, and use me as an instrument for your glory, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
