Being Idle and Disruptive

Sometimes we burn the candle at both ends. Sometimes we work our tails off and not get the result we were hoping for. It can be frustrating. It can be exhausting. But let us not grow weary.

Scripture:
“And as for you, brothers and sisters, do not grow weary in doing good.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:13

Observation/Application:
The Bible warns us against idleness, laziness, and being disruptive. It actually tells us to earn the food that we eat. “We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat.”- ( 2 Thessalonians 3:11,12).

Look we all go through valleys, and there are times between jobs, and even times needed for rest and recovery. But God didn’t put us here to sit around and be lazy. God created us with unique talents, put here for a reason, a divine purpose. Let us not squander away our gift of life. Let us appreciate every moment that we have. Let us be good stewards of our time and talent, for the glory of God. Amen.

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today, and for another amazing day. Nourish us, refresh us, and restore us, not only our bodies, but also our minds and our Spirits. Sill us with your Holy Presence Lord. Wash us clean. Make us new. Guide our actions, our words, our very thoughts. Help us to be more like you Jesus. Let our light shine in us. Let your divine purpose be known, embraced, and fulfilled in each one of us Lord. Let your Will be done, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
