What Happens When We Die?
What happens when we die? Many just think that we only have one body, the flesh, that dies when we stop breathing and our hearts stop beating. I’m not going to spend time giving a detailed dissertation on the subject, the burden for reconciliation lies in each of our own minds. But if you take time to deeply research the subject you will find more than enough evidence that proves life after death does exist. And since we all are going to face that day, the question that we must all eventually deal with is, “where will we be going when we die?”

Scripture:
“Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat down on them, nor any scorching heat.” – Revelation 7:16
Observation/Application:
The Bible spells out very clearly what happens to us when we die. There really are two outcomes. We will either be going to hell to burn in the eternal fire, or we will be going to heaven. So the question we all need to ask ourselves is where will we be going? Each of us should know the answer to this question definitively. If we have any doubt, meaning if we haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, then we are not in the group that will be going to heaven.
Today is not the day for sugar coatings. Today we are talking about the truth, and it is coming at you straight. Our time here on earth is too short to beat around the bush, and we never know when our day will come. And if for some reason you get into a car accident, or otherwise have your days end abruptly here, I would rather have you know the truth that you might be saved.
My wish for you and everyone I meet is that you will know the truth about life and death, and that you will be blessed in this life through the love of Jesus Christ, who gives us life even after our bodies fail us. My wish is that by this truth, by His love, and by His mercy, that you will never hunger again, and you will never thirst again, now and forever.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Thank you for cutting straight to the point in my heart and through these words Lord. We know that there are many out there who need to hear the truth. We know that there are many out there who fail to care enough to give you a chance Lord. Forgive us our stubbornness, our egos, and our pride. We know that you created heaven and the earth and everything in it. Thank you for giving us life, for forming us in your image. Help us to get out of our own way Lord. Help everyone that we know and hold dear to come to know your love Father God. We thank you so much for your Son Jesus Christ who you sent to die for us Lord. Help us to live a life worthy of that sacrifice Lord. Use us for your glory. We give you all the honor and glory and praise, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
