Letting Love Pierce The Darkness

What a beautiful morning. The sun is yet to pierce the darkness here on the earth, but it has cracked the darkness of my heart. This morning we read about love. God is love. God is truth and light. And in light there is no darkness. Light always overcomes darkness. So if we have anything dark in our hearts, minds, being this morning turn it over to God. Turn it over to love.

Scripture
“”Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.” – 1 Corinthians 13:8

Observation/Application:
How many times can troubles be silenced by loving those causing conflict in our lives? It takes two to fight. Try looking at things from the other person’s perspective. Once you understand their point of view, then you will have a chance to work with them. Take time to understand each other. Take time to love one another. Make time for it. We are all members of the same body of Christ. All else will at some point cease – prophecies, tongues, knowledge. Love always wins.

How well are we loving others? Are we struggling in conflict? Love others. Are we struggling in ourselves? Love and respect ourselves just as God loves us. The body is a temple, we were bought with a price. Don’t squander the resources that God gave us, including our temples. Honor God in all that we do. We are not honoring God if we let ourselves and our health slip away.

And last but not least, be careful of the tongue. In verse 5 we read that love, “…does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” What great words to ponder on in the still of the morning, and be aware of throughout the day. Let love reign in us, at all times. And may God purify us from the inside out.

#Walking-In-Love

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word this beautiful morning. I am sitting in darkness, but I know the morning sun is about to shine. Just as we have situations that bring darkness into our lives – times when we are bitter, angry, upset, disturbed… times when we are not at peace and not walking in love, I know that your light will shine in due time if we put our hope in You. I know that your promise is just around the corner if we walk with You. We surrender to You fully this morning Lord. Fill our minds with peace, our hearts with compassion and love, and let our Words help pierce the darkness in others. Let Your work be done in us that we might bring others to know You Lord, so that Your work can be done through them. We put our hope in You, and receive all of your goodness and mercy, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
