Are We Allowing Jesus To Be Crucified Again Today?
The image is forever burned into my mind. Jesus hanging on the cross, a result of the crowds who shouted and demanded at the top of their lungs that is where he should be. They denied all that he was and all that he did.

Scripture:
“But they kept shouting, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” – Luke 23:21
Observation/Application:
It feels very similar to what we are facing today as there are so many to crucify Jesus again by denying all that he is and all that he has done. We try to remove him from our schools, sneer at him in the news and in the media, mock him and cast insults at him in our colleges and universities.
It sure seems like we are in the exact same position today as that very day when Jesus was standing before pilot. We are standing in the crowd, and the crowd is yelling at the top of their lungs to remove Christ from our presence. Will we stand and be silent as the masses crucify Jesus again right in front of us?
When Jesus was standing before pilot, there were certainly some people in the crowd who stood for Jesus. But their voices were not loud enough, and there were not enough of them. It came down to numbers then, and it comes down to numbers today.
Jesus is in the process of being crucified from our presence in our schools, in the media, in our government, in our entertainment, and in our universities. The crowd is roaring. And if we are going to change the outcome of Jesus crucifixion, we are going to work together to achieve a different outcome. Each of us can help. No act is too small. No voice is insignificant. Anything and everything we do matters.
Let us work together to glorify God today.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word. We come to you with open hearts and open minds. Fill us with your goodness. Forgive the crowd as they shout to crucify you. Help us to let our voices be heard in the crowd. Guide our actions that bring glory to you. We thank you so much for the life that you have given us. And we thank you for your sacrifice, for the forgiveness of our sins, and for all that you continue to do for your faithful servants. Guide our every step, our every thought, and every word from our lips. Let everything we say and do bring honor and glory to you, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
