Are You Out Of Your Mind?

The wisdom and power that comes from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit is absolutely amazing. When we are in God’s Presence, we can experience peace and joy like never before, and at the most unexpected times.

Scripture:
“At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. ‘You are out of your mind, Paul!’ he shouted. ‘Your great learning is driving you insane’.”

Observation/Application:
When Paul was brought before Festus, and as his very life was on the line, Paul had the ultimate peace. He spoke with the greatest confidence and boldness. He presented the facts, and connected with those who were there to judge him. During this trial, Paul even tried to convince the king and others among him to be Christians like he. Paul’s behavior and boldness and joy and love was so apparent and so unexpected that the Festus thought that he had to be insane.

How could Paul who was facing death have such peace, such confidence, such boldness, such love? The answer is simple. He was full of the Holy Spirit and in the Presence of the Lord. And when in the Lord’s Presence, and in His Will, there is nothing that our God cannot do, and no storm or trial that we cannot withstand.

If you have never been so close to God that you know what I’m talking about, my deepest prayer is that someday you will. There is nothing more amazing than to be in His Presence. It’s better than any high, either athletic or chemical, because it effects not only your body or your mind… but your very soul. And it’s available free of charge, at any moment, through the Holy Spirit.

Some won’t understand. Others might think you are insane. The rest will just stand in awe amazed at your ability to stand strong in the storm, and at your unshakeable Spirit during the most unexpected times. When we truly receive the Lord into our hearts and are filled by the Holy Spirit, we may in fact be out of our minds. But how amazing it is to be out of your mind, but in the mind of Christ!

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today! We seek you first, and ask that you bless us with the mind of Christ. Cleanse us from the inside out. Refresh us. Renew us. Fill us with joy and peace and love, at all times and in all places. Strengthen and encourage us Lord, that our souls are unshakeable. We thank you so much for all that you have given to us. Continue to draw us closer to You! We give you all the honor and glory, and receive all of your Promise, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
