The Secret
Have you ever met someone who has an attitude that transcends the circumstances, either good or bad? They have a joy and peace about them that cannot be shaken. It’s not like they are cold and don’t experience human emotion. They get upset, disappointed, are both happy and sad. But nothing seems to disturb them too much. They have a positive attitude and have hope pretty much in all circumstances. What if I told you that we can have this same peace and joy in our lives, if we just knew the secret?

Scripture:
“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Christ who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:12-13
Observation/Application:
Paul reveals the secret to his peace, his power, his hope, his joy, his wisdom and understanding, and all of his success. He knows that no matter how bad things get, and not matter how bad things seem, God can turn it around. Just like that, in the blink of an eye, God can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. And God is always faithful. And when we are faithful, we know within our “knower” that God has everything under control. We know that our life circumstances are just temporary. We know that our struggles and problems that might seem huge to us are nothing but a small thing for our God. When we know this to be true, we can be content no matter the circumstances that we are facing in life.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Build up our faith, that we know the secret to having a great attitude in all circumstances. Draw us closer to you Lord, that we will have the same peace and joy and confidence no matter what we are facing. Fill us with all of your goodness Lord. Let your Holy Spirit overflow in us. Help us to get out of your Way. Let your Will be done. Use us Lord today, and every day, for your glory. Bless us that we might be a blessing to others. Surround us with people who are string in faith. Help us move past relationships that are holding us back from drawing closer to you. Guide our every action today, our every thought, and every word that comes from our lips. Help us to love every person who we come across Lord. We give you all the honor and glory, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
