Your Light and Calling
One thing is certain, in this world there will be trouble (John 16:33). And when God decides to do something with You, when you fully receive Jesus into your heart and He gives you clarity of your true calling, the devil gets scared that he is going to lose your soul in hell. He gets desperate and will use people all around you to contradict you, to attack you, to come at you… even people that you know and respect. It’s all good in the hood brother. When we walk in the truth of the Word of God, we know that the enemy is a liar who has no power against our God. Be bold in the Spirit. God has got your back. Don’t let the enemy extinguish your light!

Scripture:
“For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth’.” – Acts 13:47
Observation/Application:
In the face of trouble, it is important for us to proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ all the more. The last command that Jesus gave his disciples is found in Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age”.
God wants to use each and every one of us to be the light in the darkness and bring salvation to the ends of the earth. God has equipped each and every one of us with our own unique gifts and talents to do this. This is when we know that we are walking in our true calling.
- “Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” – Psalms 96:3
Not only does God command us to share the good news of the Word of God, He also empowers us to do it. Acts 1:8 says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” And that same power that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us. God has given us everything that we need to walk in our calling!
There is nothing that compares in this life to getting hold of the truth of the Word of God and understanding who we are. And when the Holy Spirit gets a hold of us, it is overwhelming. We can speak boldly, walk proudly, and we see everything much more clearly.
Today’s scripture speaks to me personally through the gift of song that God has given me. If there is one thing that I am certain, nothing enters the hearts like a beautiful God-inspired song. And it can travel the world and reach all ends of the earth in a moments notice. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt that God has given me these gifts to be used to share the good news of the Word of God. Praise God! Use me Lord, that your word will be spread through all the earth through songs that you create in me.
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, let your Holy Spirit overflow in me. Use me Lord through music and song, that your Word could be heard through all the earth. Let me hear your voice Lord, and represent it in beautiful song worthy to Your name. Let us stand firm in the face of trouble, and recognize and deny the lies of the enemy when they come. Help us to walk in our calling, for your glory, as we give you all the praise. Let your song be heard in all corners of the earth. We receive this and all your promises in glory, through Jesus mighty name, Amen.
