Life Lessons And God’s Word

There is so much that we can focus on in life. We grow up, go to school, maybe even to college. Some people get their masters or doctors degrees studying some field to help prepare or advance in their career. And this education serves us well. It helps us know what to do so that we can succeed in our line of work. And while there is a clear path to take when it comes to preparing for our careers, what is the clear path that prepares us for life? What do we study to give us insight into everything else outside of work?

We get a lot of this teaching by watching others, whether it be our parents, our friends, whoever we are around. That is one of the reasons why the rule of five is so important to understand and implement (see previous posts). But what if there was a course that we could study that could make us wise for all other aspects of life? How much would this be worth to us? It could help us to not take wrongs steps in investments that cost us everything that we have. It could help us get into the right relationships that save us anguish and lifetime suffering and eventually half of everything that we have, if not everything that we have. It could help us to lead happy, hopeful, joy-filled lives, filled with good decisions, peace, and love.

Scripture:
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10

Observation/Application:
This life course does exist. And everything that we need can be found in one book – the Bible. It is time-tested, proven, and rock-solid. It gives us long life, and it gives us rewards and blessings while we are alive on this earth and thereafter.

Many years ago I embarked upon this mission to read through the Bible from cover to cover in 1 years’ time, for the purpose of strengthening my understanding of God and my faith. But what I found was so much more. I found a deepened relationship with God. I found a deeper appreciation for the life of Christ and how he suffered and died for us that we might know him and find our way back to him and heaven. I found a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Holy Spirit and the power of God that lives in us. I found a deeper understanding of life, peace, joy, love, all good things that come from God.

This is barely scratching the surface. I could go on and on. Scripture guides every decision in my life. Every day when I am reading the Bible, right there in the scripture is an answer to the exact question that has been on my mind. It could be a question at work, at home, with my health, anything and everything.

It’s truly amazing how the Word of God answers every single question that I might have. Life can be tough, and I spin and struggle from time to time like everyone else. We all do. But I get back on track much faster. The journey of reading scripture and journaling each day has been the best life education I could ever ask for. My only regret is that I didn’t figure this out earlier in life. There is nothing more amazing than to have a phone line direct to God, and have Him answer every time I call!

Got questions that you want answered? Not sure what to do about a particular situation that you a re facing? God has every answer to every question that you will ever have. Seek the Lord and you will find him, and he will direct your steps.

I call you blessed.
