The Danger Of Walking In The Dark

Scripture of the Day:
“It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.” – John 11:10

Observation/Application:
A few years back I was walking around the house checking to make sure that all the doors were locked before going to sleep. All of the lights were off and I was walking in the dark. I didn’t think much of it because I lived in the house well and through I knew where I was going.Unfortunately I smacked my foot into a doorway and broke my toe so that it was turned completely sideways. Ouch. Not smart to walk in the dark.

Without Jesus, we are walking in darkness. When we walk with Jesus, we walk in the light because Jesus is the light. What kind of pain do we put ourselves through because we walk in darkness without Jesus?

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for you Word today. Thank you for this great day and another day with life and breath. For this is the day that you have made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. Keep us from temptation and from the harm intended by the enemy. Help us to keep our eyes on you and walk with you in the light. Let your Holy Spirit overflow in us as we are purified by your Word. We seek you first, and trust in you. For you never fail us. We give you all the honor and glory and praise, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
