A Pawn In The Game

Scripture of the Day:
“Finally Pilate handed Jesus over to them to be crucified.” – John 19:16

Observation/Application:
Pontius Pilate was the governor of the Roman province of Judaea during the time that Jesus walked the earth. When the Jews brought Jesus to him, Pilate found no fault in Jesus. Yet the crowd was loud and backed him into a corner and pressured him to crucify Jesus.

Pilate was a pawn in the game, rather than a leader who stood for what was right. But if he stood for what was right and let Jesus go, his job and livelihood would have been threatened. The ground upon which he stood was sinking sand. Because of this, Pilate was controlled by fear.

But when we stand on the Word of God, we stand upon the solid rock. We can stand firm knowing that the ground underneath us will not shift, and we will not be swept away by the threats of the masses. For if God is with us, nothing can stand against us. We can walk in the full assurance that God is with us and that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

And although we might be tested, and our faith will be tested, we can stand for what is right and for the pure and perfect Will of God. Even when we might not get the result that we were hoping for, when we are faithful and follow God’s call we can be confident knowing our God has the final say.

We can believe when our eyes deceive. When we believe and stand firm in the Word of God, we will see mountains moved and miracles happen. And we will experience the ultimate love and power of God our Father and the Holy Spirit through Christ our Lord.

I call you blessed.

#Standing-On-God’s-Word

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. Thank you for all that you have given us, our time, our talents, and our possessions. We surrender to you and thank you for our very breath. Help us to walk in your ways. Be with us when we have to stand in the fire. Encourage us and strengthen us to follow your Word Lord when the test comes. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight. Do not let our eyes deceive us. Let us trust in you and you alone. We are so thankful Lord. Help our unbelief. Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Let your light shine in us so bright that others come to know you and that you name will be glorified. We give you all the honor and glory and praise, in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
