Jesus Repeats Himself Three Times

Scripture of the Day:
“The third time he said to him, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?’ He said, ‘Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Feed my sheep’.” – John 21:17

Observation/Application:
The words that Jesus spoke are super important. And in this one simple conversation with Peter, Jesus repeats himself three times. How many other other times does Jesus repeat himself three times in a row, back to back?

Not many. So if Jesus is repeating himself three times, it is probably pretty important for us to understand. So what can we take away?

Simply, we are to love God first and foremost. Second we are to love and care for others, just as Jesus did. Third, we are to feed others with God’s Word, just as Jesus did.

Want to change your life for the better? Read God’s Word. Want to change the world? Lovingly share God’s Word with others.

I call you blessed.

Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your Word today. We seek you first. Help us to talk to you more, and to ask you to direct our steps more. Help us to ask you first whenever we have a question. Draw us close to you. Let us walk in your Holy Spirit. Fill us with all of your goodness. Let your Holy Spirit overflow in us. We are so thankful for all that you have done. Any struggles we have we thank you know for removing those for us. Thank you for fighting our battles. We thank you now for rest and peace, comfort and joy, wisdom and strength, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
