Dreams and Godly Revelations
Are you a dreamer? Has God placed something on your heart? Do you feel that God has a special plan for you? Newflash – He does!

Scripture:
“Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other. – Gen 37:19
Observation/Application:
A little background on today’s scripture, it is about Joseph the favored son of Jacob. So Joseph is having these dreams and shares them with his brothers and father. But his brothers are so jealous and threatened by this dream that they plan to kill Joseph by throwing him into a dry well to be left for dead. But as a caravan of Ishmaelites passes by, one of the brothers convinced the other brothers to sell Joseph as a slave instead of killing him. So they pulled Joseph up out of the well and sold him for 20 shekels. (Gen 37:28) Then they took Joseph’s robe, killed an animal and spread it’s blood all over the torn garment, and brought it back to their father Israel (Jacob) to let him know that Joseph was torn apart by wild animals. His father mourned.
But what the enemy intends for harm, God uses for good. Long story short Joseph’s difficult times were his preparations for his amazing success and blessing. Instead of becoming a slave, Joseph becomes one of the most powerful and influential men of his time. God doesn’t want you to be a slave either. He has better plans for you because He loves you as His own son! He wants to put a ring on your finger, and a robe on your back. And a comfortable pair of memory foam sandals on your tired and aching feet. And He wants to kill the fatted calf and have a feast! (Luke 15:22-23)
Look, maybe you haven’t been to church in a while. Maybe you haven’t been giving God much attention at all. Maybe you wonder if there even is a God and if he can hear us. Right now we are going to pray for you. And just like the prodigal son (Luke 15) who went away from his father, God our Father is mourning your departure and longing for you to return to Him. He wants to wrap you up in His arms and welcome you home, so that He can bless you. He is the King of kings, Lord of lords, the creator of all things. Nothing is impossible for our God.
And God’s blessings are more than we can imagine. We tend to only imagine earthly blessings, like health, and wealth. But God’s blessings surpass all understanding, peace, comfort, love, joy, gifts of the Spirit, gifts and talents that we are blessed with from our creation. God has a plan for you. All you need to do is return to Him, and His promises are always kept, His will is always done. You can always count on God!
So go ahead and dream. Remember that dream you had, when you were a child – that tug in your heart, that warms you inside. What happened to that child inside? What happened to that dreamer. That dream that God placed inside of you, that little child, no longer needs to hide. It’s time to come outside. It’s time to let it all out. To run and laugh and jump and play and fly – it’s time, it’s time, it’s time, it’s time!
Prayer:
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for this great day and for your Word today. We pray right now for those struggling in their faith. Reveal and cultivate your great plan with us Lord. Nourish every seed that is a gift from you. Cultivate your plans for us Lord. We come to you with open arms, longing for your embrace. We come home to You today, and we receive your blessings through the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your one and only Son! Amen.
